2023 Update: We ordered Christmas dinner from Golden City again this year. We’ve decided to make it a new family tradition. My family loves the food, service, and convenience of not cooking on a busy day. The whole gang is coming over again tomorrow to tackle the left overs. Thanks for another great Christmas Golden City! 2022: We decided to get takeout from Golden City this year for Christmas dinner. I ordered a week ahead of time and paid a deposit due to the large quantity of food needed. The food was ready on time, piping hot, and absolutely delicious! I especially appreciated the time they took to package it all up neatly and double wrap our saucy items. I will definitely order from here next Christmas. It made my day so much easier. We tryed almost every place from Auburn to brunswick since we moved 2years ago we have finally found the place food was great tons of flavor and the portions were huge. And was still hot after a 20min ride home. the 2 older people who run the place were super nice and welcoming. Will definitely be going back next time we want chinese
I LOVE THEM. We got a large takeout order this evening and didn’t realize until we got home that we were missing our boneless ribs. We had plenty of food already and didn’t want to go back out, so we just let it go. But within 5 minutes of us getting home, they called us and offered to deliver it to our house!! Not only that - they threw in two free drinks and some egg rolls!!! The owners are always so kind, and the food never disappoints. We love Golden City!!!
IT WAS AMAZING HAND'S DOWN THE BEST!!!! I have been a periodic repeat customer and I brought my mother and my 11-year-old and it was both their first time and they both fell in love and say that this is the best local Chinese in Lewiston, Auburn, Leeds, Wales, Greene etc. I even read some of the bad reviews and it had nothing to do with the food, unless you don't like your rice legitimately being fried. That is the one stellar difference about this place versus other places; they don't boil the rice, they fry it and you may not like that flavoring - like a grill in your food. Their food ain't bad; it's an acquired taste. But seriously, if you want A quality meat, tender food, and amazing sauces - you need to go eat there and you'll see for yourself !
This place has some amazing food. I feel they have 3 items that are the best I’ve ever had: General Tso Chicken, lo mien (I’ve only had chicken) and boneless ribs. General is very saucy and good, don’t be fooled by it saying spicy, it is not. The lo mien has bold flavors and the ribs are out of this world good and I typically pass on ribs. I’ve had their beef teriyaki and it’s pretty good, only one with combination plate. The owners are nice and are the only employees so you may have to wait a bit but never too long.
Yesterday was the first time trying it. We ordered take out and the food was still hot when I got it home. They gave huge portions.. The food was fantastic!! My husband is not a big meat eater, he's super picky, and usually only orders seafood. He even loved the chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki.. the rice containers were bulging from being extra full. The chicken fingers were crispy and didn't have the extra mushy breading inside, we got many chicken fingers in the order. I especially loved the egg roll..it was huge and delicious..if you like egg rolls, they are the best!!! We loved everything! The only thing that was a little different to us, were the crab Rangoon. They have the sesame oil taste..they aren't bad..I still liked them, just different to us. This will be our new favorite place! I'll recommend to everyone! Thank you for the delicious food!

By far the best Chinese food in Lewiston!!! Been going to Golden City since I was a kid and I always love seeing the family when I go in. Very nice, truly hardworking people.
